TRUE BLOOD After watching the first 15 or so minutes, my initial thought was WTF? I know Alan Ball said he was traveling away from the books, okay that’s fine and I understand imaginative creativity. But he took the books and ran sideways with them. True Blood is about as far away from the books as humanly possible. This show is so sideways I can’t tell if it’s going in the right crocked direction. So now that I have wrapped my head around the first couple of episodes, and I think I have a general idea of the direction he is going (vague direction), let’s talk about what’s happened so far in the story. Well it truly is great to be back in Bon Temps, although the beginning scenes take place in fairy land. From Sookie and Barry, to Sookie’s grandfather, everyone seemed to be in Fairy. How’d they get there? That answer is still quite unclear, but from the look of things once entered, no one leaves this time warp. And as usual, things are not always what they seem and those sweet innocent looking fairies turn out to be nothing more than supernatural crazies out…Continue reading...
