Waiting on Wednesday

{Waiting on Wednesday #14} Inhuman, Unbreakable and Resident Evil: Revelations

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine where bloggers can rant and rave about any upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating. For my addition, I will be spotlighting an upcoming book AND sometimes I will throw in a video game release that I am dying to get my hands on!

This week in WoW I’m swooning over two kick a$$ titles I think will make my EPIC Must-Read list! A list I only reserve for books that are the cream of the crop and the best of the best. You can see so far who I’ve crowned EPIC at THIS LINK. Annnnd I managed to score a game this week! So check out these three upcoming titles below and let me know if you’ve added them to your reading or gaming piles yet!

I never believed in ghosts. Until one tried to kill me.

When Kennedy Waters finds her mother dead, her world begins to unravel. She doesn’t know that paranormal forces in a much darker world are the ones pulling the strings. Not until identical twins Jared and Lukas Lockhart break into Kennedy’s room and destroy a dangerous spirit sent to kill her. The brothers reveal that her mother was part of an ancient secret society responsible for protecting the world from a vengeful demon — a society whose five members were all murdered on the same night.

Now Kennedy has to take her mother’s place in the Legion if she wants to uncover the truth and stay alive. Along with new Legion members Priest and Alara, the teens race to find the only weapon that might be able to destroy the demon — battling the deadly spirits he controls every step of the way.

Suspense, romance, and the paranormal meet in this chilling urban fantasy, the first book in a new series from Kami Garcia, bestselling coauthor of the Beautiful Creatures novels.[/note]

Hello dear Unbreakable you had me at ‘paranormal forces’. Not to mention that hauntingly sleek cover. Oh yes, I want you.

Title: Inhuman (Fetch #1)

In a world ravaged by mutation, a teenage girl must travel into the forbidden Savage Zone to recover lost artifacts or her father’s life is forfeit.

America has been ravaged by a war that has left the eastern half of the country riddled with mutation. Many of the people there exhibit varying degrees of animal traits. Even the plantlife has gone feral.

Crossing from west to east is supposed to be forbidden, but sometimes it’s necessary. Some enter the Savage Zone to provide humanitarian relief. Sixteen-year-old Lane’s father goes there to retrieve lost artifacts—he is a Fetch. It’s a dangerous life, but rewarding—until he’s caught.

Desperate to save her father, Lane agrees to complete his latest job. That means leaving behind her life of comfort and risking life and limb—and her very DNA—in the Savage Zone. But she’s not alone. In order to complete her objective, Lane strikes a deal with handsome, roguish Rafe. In exchange for his help as a guide, Lane is supposed to sneak him back west. But though Rafe doesn’t exhibit any signs of “manimal” mutation, he’s hardly civilized . . . and he may not be trustworthy.[/note]

Want, want, want, want, want, want, want, want, want!  This sounds like the beginning of a freakishly epic Dystopian series. And I want to know what kind of mutations we’ll be seeing in this book. Will they be more like ‘animalistic’ zombies or more superhuman, and how ‘feral’? Can’t wait to get my hands on it and find out!

Resident Evil: Revelations

Resident Evil Revelations box art xbox360

Release: May 21, 2013 (US)

The Trailer:

Umm hello!?! Who the freak doesn’t like Resident Evil games???!!? I don’t care if the games suck worse than the movies or vice versa, I will continue to buy every Resident Evil game as long as they continue to make them and I have no problems with them turning my survival horror games in to horror shooters. This is by far one of my all-time favorite franchises and I can’t pass up this opportunity to own it!

So what about you? What games or books are you waiting on?
