Skyrim Races, Unboxing Uncharted, Black Ops Rezurrection and More
Howdy gaming community. It’s been another awesome and jaw dropping week in gaming. From GameStop pulling codes out of new games, to Steve Jobs stepping down as Apple’s CEO, let’s take a look and see what transpired this week.
Steve Jobs Resigns as Apple’s CEO
On August 24, in a letter to Apple’s Board of Directors, Jobs stated that he would be stepping down from his position as CEO due to his inability to fulfill the duties and expectations required for the position. You might recall that Jobs has been suffering from a long-term illness so this probably is not a surprise to many of you. His letter simply stated:
“I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.
I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.
As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.
I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.”
Later that day, the company announced that Chief Operating Officer, Tim Cook, has been named the new CEO, effective immediately.
Skyrim’s Races, Who Will You Be?
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will launch this November. And adding to the excitement Bethesda revealed the ten playable races that players will get the chance to explore. Take a close look at the pictures below and chose your character wisely.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Rezurrection Map Pack
Rezurrection is the fourth DLC for the highly acclaimed Call of Duty: Black Ops game. In this DLC, players received four old Zombie Maps from World at War, along with a new map called Moon. The Moon is a cleaver map, throwing hoards and hoards of zombies at players on a space station located, yeah you guessed it, on the moon. On the map you will find an assortment of goodies. Such as: Mystery boxes, a new perk called Perk-a-Cola, Mule Kick (allows players to carry three weapons at once) and a variety of weapons including the map-specific weapon called the Wave Gun (which causes zombies to swell and eventually explode), and the Quantum Entanglement Device.
Check out the video below for a look at what you can expect to happen on the Moon.

GameStop Tramples on Customers
Earlier this week, GameStop employees began opening new packages of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and removing competitor’s OnLive codes. According to the company, they were unaware that the publisher, Square Enix, would be placing promotional OnLive codes in the PC versions of their games. Therefore as a result, the company felt it was necessary to remove the codes from the game boxes. However, after an uproar in the gaming community, GameStop eventually pulled their entire stock of PC versions of DXHR from the shelves, and offered a full apology to their customers along with a 50 gift card and a buy 2 get 1 free offer. In my opinion, this is one smart move for the company because if this had gone on any longer, you never know what kind of repercussions this would have caused for future GameStop sells.
