Welcome everyone to my 1 Year Book Blogging Anniversary Extravaganza. What can I say, blogging has taken over my life, and this past year, being a part of the book blogging community has certainly been a whirlwind adventure.

Mother/Gamer/Writer History:
Now I know you are probably saying, “but wasn’t you blog created in March of 2011?” The simple answer to this question is yes. However, I technically didn’t start reviewing books until months later. M/G/W was originally created to follow one nerdy girl (that’s me) on her novel writing adventure. But when I started doing research (yes, everything involves research) on how to bring personality and life into my blog, I knew the best way to be me was to be what I truly am at heart, a Certified Geek!
So the second thing I introduced into my blog was video games. I’ve always been a gamer, my first system was an NES and I didn’t stop until I owned every console on the market – expect for the PlayStation, I guess this is how I became an Xbox fangirl. Video games have been a part of my life for the better part of two decades and I don’t ever foresee myself not being a gamer. I’ve even been teaching my daughter the simple mechanics; turns out she’s just as nerdy as her mother. *Snoopy happy dance*

After blogging about different video game related topics, I began to think my blog was missing something else. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it until I read Charlaine Harris’s, Dead Reckoning. Duh, books! Reading is my second passion, and until I discovered the sultry world of Gena Showalter’s, Lords of the Underworld, fantasy had been my preferred reading genre. But after stepping my toes into Showalter’s, The Darkest Night, my eyes had been opened to the sexy world of paranormal romance. Now, I find myself craving supernatural characters with over-the-top egos. Though every once in a while I have to bend to my hearts will and read a jaw-dropping mystery, heart pounding fantasy, or an action-packed graphic novel. And thanks to the wonderful authors and publishers, I never have to go long without getting my fix.
Who knew after all of this M/G/W would acquire 4 additional reviewers, participate in some epic Blog Tours, host my first Reading Challenge (check it out), or even be on the book blogging radar? Needless to say, I’ve been blessed.
Okay, history lesson aside let’s move on the big stuff…
Thank you’s:
First I would like to thank my awesome team of reviewers, Heather, Jennifer D., AimeeKay, CrayolaKim, and Jennifer C., because without you guys my head might have exploded into a bazillion pieces these last few months. You ROCK! *high-fives*
I would also like to thank the authors, readers, bloggers, Twitter, Facebook and Goodreads friends I’ve met along the way. It has truly been such a blessing to make as many friends as I have through the world of book blogging. I never expected to be so welcomed, or that people would so deeply care about what I had to say.
My followers are awesome! They don’t have to read my posts, but they do. And they certainly didn’t have to follow or continue to be active members, and while I know there are a million places you can visit, I am thrilled that you chose to be a member of my Geek Revolutions! So thank you for sticking around through the many M/G/W changes. And I promise you I have so much more coming soon!
