Genevieve is a teenage girl who moves in with her aunt in Alaska after the death of her mother. Soon after her arrival she learns the things she was raised to believe only existed in fairytales are in fact a big part of her history. When it gets to be too much she seeks refuge in the arms of her new boyfriend, William, only to find out he’s not who she thought he was either.

 1.      Welcome Robin to Mother/Gamer/Writer, for those readers who are not familiar with you or your work, can you please tell us a little bit about yourself?

First, allow me to thank you for having me at your blog. You are a wonderful hostess and I appreciate this opportunity. I am originally from Miami, but grew up in Ohio.  I currently live in central Alabama with my husband and the two youngest of our five children.  I’ve always wanted to be a writer, and even though I did some writing in college I never thought about writing full time. I have always loved to read and about two years ago I tried to read a completely awful book. It was so poorly written I couldn’t make it to the end of the first chapter. With a little nudging from my husband I wrote my first novel, Twisted, an FBI suspense/thriller novel.

 2.      If you could sum up Ties to the Blood Moon in a few sentences, how would you describe your novel?

I would have to say Ties is a fast paced, easy to read novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

 3.      Why did you choose Alaska to be the backdrop for your story?

I wanted my story to take place somewhere different. To me Alaska is this beautiful, mysterious place many people know little about and you rarely find it in any novels. I thought it would be the perfect place to set my story in.

 4.      Why did you decide to incorporate Native America mythology into your novel? Was it difficult?

Unlike Twilight (which some people are comparing Ties to) I wanted to give as much background as I could about ALL of my characters, not just the main love interest. It was extremely difficult because there just isn’t a lot of Native American information available, especially when it comes to mythology.

 5.      Who was your favorite character to write? Which character was the hardest?

Genevieve was both, my favorite and the most difficult to write. She had to go from normal hormonal teenager to this dangerous Adlet wolf, and then on to something else you will find out about in book 2.

 6.      If you could change anything about your novel, would you?

Well, looking at the reviews what I hear the most is the first few chapters were slow going, so I might be tempted to go back and rewrite those, but I do feel those chapters were important in developing the story.

 7.      What would you consider are your writing pet peeves? Or writing rituals?

I don’t really think I have any pet peeves when it comes to writing. However, one particular ritual I have is coffee. I can’t sit down to write until I have brewed a fresh pot of coffee and fixed myself a large cup.

8.      What are you currently working on?

Book 2 of the series. It really should have been finished a month ago, but I am nowhere near done. I have had numerous road blocks since beginning this book. Ties only took a couple of months to write. I have been working on book 2 since November and I don’t see it being completed for at least another month … or longer.

 9.      Lastly, do you have any advice for aspiring authors?

I don’t claim to have all of the answers, but the one consistent piece of advice I get from EVERY bestselling author I have met is: Never stop writing. No matter how difficult it gets at times you have to keep on writing. After all, winners never quit and quitters never win.
