Gaming News

Game Releases, E3, and More

I am so excited to start this week off with some good news!  Friday I purchased my copy of LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean for the 360.  Let me just say that so far this game is everything I expected.  In classic LEGO fashion they story is over the top, hidden items are harder to spot, and the unlockable characters have unique abilities that enhance the gameplay.  I love, love, love this game!  If you are deciding whether to purchase this game over LEGO Star Wars: The Clone Wars, I would suggest getting this one.  This game is new, fresh, and who wouldn’t want to battle pirates?  So check it out or rent it if you prefer, but take it from a gaming mama it is worth playing.  Full review will be posted when I have completed the game.

There is light at the end of the tunnel for PlayStation Network users after a 24 day absence of their beloved PSN.  Sony posted on their blog a customer appreciation program for North American users.  This package will be made available to all existing registered PlayStation Network and Qriocity users in US and Canada.  It will be made available shortly after PSN is fully restored. They also stated that more specific details about these offers and eligibility requirements will be posted as the services go live.

Here is an extensive list of what PlayStation and PSP owners can expect.  These games will be available for download 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

Sony also announced on their blog a Double XP weekend for Killzone 3.

“To celebrate the return of the PlayStation Network and welcome you back to Killzone 3’s online battlefield, we’ve got a Double XP Weekend lined up! Starting this Friday, May 20 at 17:00 PM UK time, and lasting until Monday, May 23 at 10:00 AM UK time, all XP you earn in Killzone 3’s multiplayer matches will be doubled.”

Looking forward to this year’s E3?  So am I!  With big upcoming game releases this year everyone is trying to compile a list of their top 5 picks.  As for me, nothing looks sweeter than Elder Scrolls V:  Skyrim.  I know we have seen a ton of this game already, but I am hoping they will debut something new about this game that we don’t already know.  Still don’t know which games will be at E3?  Well today’s your lucky day!  Below is the most updated list of games that will be previewed, there are also a few rumored games on the list.  Shout out which ones are your favorites.
