Cocktail (Winter) Wednesday Episode 11: Kahlua Hot Chocolate
It’s Hump Day! And I’m sure some of us need a cocktail by now. Here on Cocktail Wednesday I’ll be dishing about some of my favorite cocktails. Sometimes I will include drinks I spot from around the web and other times this weekly feature will include drinks I’ve made. For those of you who prefer non-alcoholic beverages, there will be something fun in these posts for you too! So, sit back relax and take a sip!
Today’s Featured Cocktail:
Kahlua Hot Chocolate!
2 cups milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons Dutch-processed unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg
1 ounce Kahlúa coffee liqueur
Mini marshmallows, for serving
Salted caramel, for serving
Chocolate syrup, for serving
In a medium saucepan, combine milk, sugar, cocoa powder, cinnamon and nutmeg over medium heat until heated through, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in Kahlúa.
Serve immediately, garnished with mini marshmallows, salted caramel and chocolate syrup, if desired.
Ugh…winter. Seriously, who loves winter for more than a month?! LOL If you’re like me and in need of some comfort and warmth, then this is the cocktail for you. Heck I don’t even care for chocolate and yet this drink has me foaming at the mouth.
