Behind The Blog – What I’m Watching: The Blacklist (NBC) #TeamRed

what I'm watching banner

I’ll be the first to admit I have a few addicting pleasures when I’m not writing or blogging. You already know (or at least you should have a clue) that I’m a HUGE gaming nerd. But outside of that my other favorite guilty pleasure is TV. I watch an INSANE amount of television. Between Netflix, DVR, online on demand, I’ve always got my eyes glued to a show. And yes, my taste in TV varies as wide as my taste in books so you can only guess what shows are constantly on repeat in my house. Over the course of this year, in what I hope will become something I do on a regular basis, I hope to give everyone a glimpse into my crazy life outside of blogging, because hey, no one reads 24/7 right?????? Hum, maybe that’s still debatable…

The Blacklist Behind the Blog Banner

I almost (almost) feel stupid for passing on The Blacklist. My mother was constantly recommending this show to me; her exact words were often, “OMG, you don’t watch it? What’s wrong with you?” Now that I have watched it, I find myself asking the exact same questions, what the hell is wrong with me, and why the hell did it take me so long to find this EPIC show?!?!

The Blacklist is the kind of crime drama I’ve always wanted. Yes, I’m a fan of shows like CSI, Dexter, and Criminal Minds but The Blacklist (to me) offers something the other shows do not; a chance to work with the presumed “bad guy” and give him (mostly) free reign to do whatever the heck he wants. Kill a guy? No problem. Blackmail people, lie, cheat, steal, and murder some more criminals? Sure, why not! Literally guys…this show has EVERYTHING! I’m not kidding nor am I exaggerating, it has EVERYTHING!

The Blacklist is not for the faint of heart. But…BUT…if you LOVE shows with heart-stopping storylines, nonstop mysteries, intrigue, betrayal, freakishly good whodunits, and blood Blood and MORE BLOOD, then yes dear readers, I recommend this show to you! Everyone needs a Raymond “Red” Reddington in their life!
