About the Book:

He haunts her dreams and embodies her nightmares…

A dreamcaster with the ability to channel creatures from her nightmares, headstrong and cynical Kalila Montgomery longs for a peaceful, picket-fence life…until the man literally of her dreams kidnaps her. Survival quickly becomes her number one goal, yet a growing attraction to the man featured in her nightmares is impossible to ignore. While she fears he will kill her, other, more terrifying enemies surround her, and Kalila succumbs to his scheme to escape.

She may be his one hope for freedom…

A deadly combination of power, cunning, and cold-hearted charm, Lydon v’al Endrian fears nothing. Feels nothing. Chained to a brotherhood of men with the supernatural ability to invade dreams, he hunts dreamcasters to be harvested for their dreams and killed. His target: Kalila Montgomery. But Kalila awakens an undeniable dark desire and a longing for a freedom long-lost. To gain everything he craves, Lydon must seduce Kalila before his plot is discovered…a hopeless challenge which, if failed, will earn him a death-sentence.

Caught up in a dangerous world of secrets and obsession, doubt and betrayal, Kalila and Lydon face the nightmare of their lives, where love will either deliver them—or destroy them both.

Creature Feature – Your Personal Guide to a V’alkara (according to KM)

Hey people, I’m Kalila Montgomery from Wonderfully Wicked, here to pass along a few insider tips about the V’alkara. You might not have heard of them. I had no clue they existed until recently, when one stalked me into my favorite coffee shop. Stupid on his part. No one messes with my caffeine time and comes away clean. And sure, they look and talk and think like men, but the word “creature” definitely applies. Manimal might be a better one. Just sayin’. Here we go.

Tip number one:  The V’alkara sneak into your dreams without permission or apology. Rude, right? Just because they don’t sleep and need your nightmares to prevent a mental spiral into Crazy Town doesn’t give them the right to do whatever they want in your dream. Like kiss you. Or kill you.

Tip number two: Hold tight to your heartstrings. If you have a weakness for broken things, you’re in trouble. These boys will play every compassion card they have to manipulate you into doing what they want. They’re emotionally bankrupt through no fault of their own, and maybe it’s a natural tendency for a dreamcaster (that would be me) to want to fill that void. I dunno. Not all of the V’alkara affect me that way, but there’s one in particular…ahem. Sorry, got off track. On to tip number three.

Tip number three:  I know I said the V’alkara think like men, but that’s questionable. They lurk in dark places. Break into bedrooms. Collect nightmares. Hunt dreamcasters. They give shady motives a whole new meaning. But if you find one who risks his skin to rescue your patooty, pay attention. No matter what he says, he just might have a thing for you. Yeah, he might be possessive, overprotective, and frequently annoying, but try to stay on his good side. It’s where you want to be when the crap hits the ceiling fan.

Tip number four: A V’alkara is loyal to his master and the brotherhood. He doesn’t really have a choice. Remember my earlier tidbit that they don’t sleep? Well, it messes them up. Big time. Their only hope for healing is through some weird, control-freak connection provided by their master. And he only asks for a small boon in return: pretty much their souls. Sounds like a sweetheart of a tyrant, doesn’t he?

Last tip of the day: Sometimes, a V’alkara needs a whack upside his adorable head. No one’s perfect. We’ve all made mistakes. Our past crimes don’t make us unworthy of love, but getting through to someone who has never felt affection of any kind is no all-you-can-eat piefest. And that’s coming from me, the master at deflecting rejection. When it comes to dealing with a V’alkara, you’re gonna need truckloads of patience. But he’s worth every second.

Thanks for sticking it out with me today, and in the off-chance you run into a V’alkara, maybe you’ll survive if you follow my tips. No promises.
