Behind The Blog – What I’m Watching: The Walking Dead (AMC)

what I'm watching banner
I’ll be the first to admit I have a few addicting pleasures when I’m not writing or blogging. You already know (or at least you should have a clue) that I’m a HUGE gaming nerd. But outside of that my other favorite guilty pleasure is TV. I watch an INSANE amount of television. Between Netflix, DVR, online on demand, I’ve always got my eyes glued to a show. And yes, my taste in TV varies as wide as my taste in books so you can only guess what shows are constantly on repeat in my house. Over the course of this year, in what I hope will become something I do on a regular basis, I hope to give everyone a glimpse into my crazy life outside of blogging, because hey, no one reads 24/7 right?????? Hum, maybe that’s still debatable…

Why I like it copy

The Walking Dead is the perfect mesh of post-apocalyptic society and zombies. From the very first episode when Rick wakes up from a coma to find the word has literally gone to hell, I immediately wanted to know more about WTF was going on. And apparently, I’m not the only one. The Walking Dead has become such a huge show in America. I guess people do love their zombies despite the shows in-you-face gore and strong subject matter. Even though it’s based off a comic book series, the show diverges (significantly) from the original content. Some people who were supposed to die live and others have had their original storylines shaken up a bit. All in all it’s a FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC show and one that I highly recommend if you love good character driven dramas.

Now on its fourth season, The Walking Dead continues to raise the stakes. I could go into detail about why you should watch this show, but since it’s on season four I really don’t want to give away any spoilers from previous seasons. But TRUST me, if you watch episode 1, then you will want to watch episode 2, then 10, then season 2 and 3 and 4. You are being warned: YOU WILL GET Addicted! Need more convincing? Check out these images from the past and current seasons.

love verdict

Verdict: I LOVE ME SOME WALKING DEAD! Frankly, I can’t get enough of this show, it’s characters, and the game is even freaking amazing. Heck, I have a bunch of collectibles too. Like I said, if you haven’t started it yet, now is the time. Because there is always room in your life for zombies…
