Waiting on Wednesday #44: Welcome to the Dark House & LEGO Movie Videogame

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine where bloggers can rant and rave about any upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating. For my addition, I will be spotlighting an upcoming book AND sometimes I will throw in a video game release that I am dying to get my hands on!

waiting on wednesday

This week in WoW, I’m waiting on a novel that I hope can scare the pants off me and the next LEGO videogame! Check out my top picks this week.

This Week’s Picks:

Welcome to the Dark House
Welcome to the Dark House
Author: Laurie Faria Stolarz
Expected publication: July 22, 2014
Publisher: Disney-Hyperion
Pages: 320
Add it: Goodreads
Grab It: Amazon

What’s your worst nightmare?

For Ivy Jensen, it’s the eyes of a killer that haunt her nights. For Parker Bradley, it’s bloodthirsty sea serpents that slither in his dreams.

And for seven essay contestants, it’s their worst nightmares that win them an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at director Justin Blake’s latest, confidential project. Ivy doesn’t even like scary movies, but she’s ready to face her real-world fears. Parker’s sympathetic words and perfect smile help keep her spirits up. . . at least for now.

Not everyone is so charming, though. Horror-film fanatic Garth Vader wants to stir up trouble. It’s bad enough he has to stay in the middle of nowhere with this group—the girl who locks herself in her room; the know-it-all roommate; “Mister Sensitive”; and the one who’s too cheery for her own good. Someone has to make things interesting.

Except, things are already a little weird. The hostess is a serial-killer look-alike, the dream-stealing Nightmare Elf is lurking about, and the seventh member of the group is missing.

By the time Ivy and Parker realize what’s really at stake, it’s too late to wake up and run.

There’s no way I’m not getting this. Garth Vader…LOL *dies*. This kinda reminds me of Scary Movie in a way. I don’t know why but I’m in love with the blurb. Can’t wait for this to come out.

The Trailer

It’s been a while since I featured a game on here. Well, that’s because my Xbox is broke…*EPIC sad face*. But, tax season is right around the corner and you know what that means…yup I’m getting a ONE! OMG. And what better way to start 2014 off right than with an awesome LEGO game. I hate to admit…I LOVE LEGO games. I have all of them except 2. I can’t get enough of them. Harry Potter was by far my favorite with Pirates of the Caribbean a close second. I so can’t wait to get my hands on this!

So what about you? What games or books are you waiting on?
