Happy New Year M/G/W friends! It’s time for the Best of 2013 Audiobook Blog Hop where book bloggers get together and highlight their favorite 3 audiobooks from 2013. For some reason, I can’t get enough of the enigmatic voices who bring novel characters to life. Today, I’m going to share with some EPIC MUST READ errr MUST LISTEN to books from my bookshelf in 2013….
Title: Falling Kingdoms (Falling Kingdoms #1)
The gripping New York Times bestseller that is Game of Thrones for teens
In a land where magic has been forgotten but peace has reigned for centuries, a deadly unrest is simmering. Three kingdoms grapple for power—brutally transforming their subjects’ lives in the process. Amidst betrayals, bargains, and battles, four young people find their fates forever intertwined:
Cleo: A princess raised in luxury must embark on a rough and treacherous journey into enemy territory in search of a magic long thought extinct.
Jonas: Enraged at injustice, a rebel lashes out against the forces of oppression that have kept his country impoverished—and finds himself the leader of a people’s revolution centuries in the making.
Lucia: A girl adopted at birth into a royal family discovers the truth about her past—and the supernatural legacy she is destined to wield.
Magnus: Bred for aggression and trained to conquer, a firstborn son begins to realize that the heart can be more lethal than the sword. . . .
The only outcome that’s certain is that kingdoms will fall. Who will emerge triumphant when all they know has collapsed?
My Thoughts: Falling Kingdoms is pretty da*n AMAZING. Technically, this book was published in 2012, however I didn’t discover it until later this year. The narrator, Fred Berman, is pretty da*n delicious to listen to. Very engaging, very…swoon worthy. His voice — his accent — is by far one of my all-time favorites. And the story….OMG….so EPIC! If you love fantasy, well crazy a$$ fantasies, then I highly recommend grabbing a copy. I even picked up a hard cover because it’s that da*n good. (and you know if I keep saying da*n it HAS to be freaking AMAZEBALLS)
time for war.
Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.
She’s finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.
Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.
In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam’s life.
My Thoughts: Forget everything else and listen to this series! OMG………….Unravel Me is so AMAZING the hairs on the back of your neck will stand to attention. Kate Simses is my absolute favorite narrator. Shes takes the image of a scared girl and turns her into one hell of an amazing female MC. And the way Mafi’s words roll from her tongue, dear book gods….*dies*…Just read my review.
New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter is back with a breathtaking Lords of the Underworld tale about a warrior trapped by darkness and the woman determined to save him
Having endured weeks of torture in the bowels of hell, Kane wants nothing to do with his beautiful rescuer, Josephina Aisling. The half-Fae female threatens to awaken the demon of Disaster inside him—a beast he’s determined to kill, no matter the price.
Josephina is hunted by a brutal enemy—her royal family—and Kane is her only source of protection. He’s also the only male to ever set her aflame, and even he succumbs to the heat. But as they navigate the treacherous world of the Fae, they are forced to make a choice: live apart…or die together.
My Thoughts: Dear Max Bellmore, your voice is so smooth and eerily delicious it could melt butter or make any woman salivate. Never mind this is one of my all-time FAVORITE Series on the ENTIRE planet. Your voice, just makes it that much better. I could curl up and listen to you depict my Lords of the Underworld every day. Heck, sometimes I do.
