Waiting on Wednesday #35: End Times and Nil
“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine where bloggers can rant and rave about any upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating. For my addition, I will be spotlighting an upcoming book AND sometimes I will throw in a video game release that I am dying to get my hands on!
This week in WoW, I’m featuring a couple of interesting books about the End of Time! Check out my top picks this week!

Trumpets announce the End Times, and the God-fearing people of Carbon County are ready to be saved.
But when newcomer Daphne discovers oil on her Uncle Floyd’s land, the area is flooded with oil prospectors, like vultures out for Blood.
A boy, Owen, arrives as well, along with his alluring sister Luna, who moves through town like Fire.
The community prospers, but strange and extraordinary phenomena Plague the area: signs that seem impossible for Daphne to ignore.
With Owen’s help, Daphne discovers there are greater forces at work in Carbon County, more destructive than she can imagine.
The signs keep coming, pointing Daphne to her destiny. . . .
Soon she and everyone else in town must choose who they love and where they stand in this richly-drawn genesis story for an explosive series about the Rapture.

This sounds absolutely INSANE! I mean, how could you not want to read it after gazing at that cover and synopsis? I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy…
Nil

Publisher: Henry Holt
Pages: 384

Overview:
On the mysterious island of Nil, the rules are set. You have one year. Exactly 365 days–to escape, or you die.
Seventeen-year-old Charley doesn’t know the rules. She doesn’t even know where she is. The last thing she remembers is blacking out, and when she wakes up, she’s lying naked in an empty rock field.
Lost and alone, Charley finds no sign of other people until she meets Thad, the gorgeous leader of a clan of teenage refugees. Soon Charley learns that leaving the island is harder than she thought . . . and so is falling in love. With Thad’s time running out, Charley realizes that to save their future, Charley must first save him. And on an island rife with dangers, their greatest threat is time.

Another great Dystopian to add to my collection! I am really curious to see what the author can bring to the table with this novel that we haven’t already seen. Yes, it sounds like a familiar story ( namely The Forsaken (The Forsaken, #1) by Lisa M. Stasse…which I LOVED), but I will definitely give it a shot and hope it lives up to my expectations!
So what about you? What games or books are you waiting on?

The cover for “End of Times” is gripping. It’s so detailed and color-rich it makes you pick it up. “Nil” I’ve never heard of either, but it sounds amazing.

Haven’t heard of End of Times until now but it really sounds good, so thanks for sharing! Nil is already on my TBR and I cannot wait for it to be released already.
