Our Rambling Thoughts on Chapters 28 – The End:
Aww, Randy … really? Tick-Tock gone; Zero dead … twenty-three dead. Sniffs
So it wasn’t Tate or Spade (Charles is growing on me big time), it wasn’t the gunslinger whose name escapes me. We knew it wasn’t Annette, but I really thought it was going to be Ian. Rattler, didn’t see that coming at all.
More so, I didn’t see the freaking zombies coming. Whoa, and nothing kills them except the object created to raise them … and it’s a freaking vampire. Sneaky, sneaky Patra. Thank goodness, Cat’s good for figuring shit out even if it was a bit late. Sadly, it was my first thought, but then again, I’m sneaky like that.
Mencheres … ugh … get over it already. I loved when he asked Cat what she’d do in his position. Her reply was priceless and I don’t think he expected it at all. “If you went so far off the deep end that you’d try—and succeed – in killing those I loved, and you made it clear through countless examples that you wouldn’t stop until I and everyone I cared about were dead, then yes. I’d kill you.”
Of course, he came through with raising the dead spirits of those they lost to find and torment Patra, but still … grow some balls. Seeing as, according to Cat, she only looked 14 … it’s kind of creepy how much he loved her. Granted, I’m assuming he’s younger looking? I can’t recall. Still kind of pervy.
Tate … not much there. He’s freed and gets to save Cat’s mangled arm. He might have gotten some wood from it too haha.
Bones loses his arm when he almost rips Ian’s head off. Mencheres steps in, and then Ian apologizes for blaming their loses on cat’s inability to figure things out sooner. Quite lame to even think that, but I guess all is well.
Awesome fight scenes throughout the whole book. I liked the plot line and interaction with the different vampire lines. I want more Vlad, would love to see Tate find a mate, Juan … ahaha … he’s a slut.
Only thing really missing from this book was the steam. I wanted more smexiness between Cat and Bones, but given the plot, I don’t think it would’ve been appropriate. This is the first one I’d give a solid five stars to. It had action, romance, mystery, and suspense that melded together perfectly.
“Come on Vlad, live up to your reputation. If you can’t burn to death one Egyptian vampire chained to a wall, how did you ever drive the Turks from Romania.” Cat to Vlad pgs 314-315
“You need to get laid mate.” Bones to Anubus pg. 294

Remember you don’t have to answer all the questions. These are just some areas we found interesting while reading and thought they’d make a good point of reference if you aren’t sure what you’d like to discuss. #CatBonesRA on Twitter and Facebook!
