Our Rambling Thoughts on Chapters 22 – 31:
Annette … jealous, dried up, no good hussy, button pushing, whore.
That about sums up our new comer this week, right? I mean there isn’t a nice way to describe her, and I couldn’t stand her from the moment she opened her prim mouth. But I’m jumping ahead of myself a wee bit.
So, the jaw dropper this week is Cat’s connection to Don. Uncle, Her bloody freaking uncle? I didn’t see that one coming at all. More so, how did that blow by mummy dearest if Cat looks so much like him? That’s probably a good thing though, it was nice not to have to put up with her antics this week beyond a small mention.
I was proud of our girl again this week. She continues to stand up for herself, even when questioned continuously. Heck, she even stood up to Bones albeit, he could claim me any day. After all, it was only formality to save her hide.
Seriously, I can’t remember his name, but the grand sire was interesting. His future seeing ability, the words he shared with Cat about grudges … deep stuff. I’d like to see more of him, learn him inside and out.
I’m keeping it short this week. The heated action commences and I can’t wait to dive in to the fray. There’s plenty of shmexiness in the next chapter, so I’ll bid you ado, and see you at the end.
I have been terribly behind lately – going out of town TWICE and then being SICK! As a matter of fact, I’m hacking up a lung now as I crawl out of bed to write this! I swear the world was against me reading about my manwhore Bones. Thanks goodness I was able to catch up this week because man, I have truly missed this awesome duo. Show of hands, how many people were glad when Bones offered to join Cat’s team to keep her safe? I didn’t see it coming but it does show how much he deeply cares for Cat because we all know, it’s probably the last thing he wants to do.
As for the big OMG-WTF-THIS-COULD-NOT-BE-TRUE moment for this week, we learn about the relationship between Don and Cat and who is really trying to kill our heroine. Honestly, I thought that it was going to be someone else close to her. I never expected Don to be her uncle. I am still reeling from this big reveal. And, WTF…why does her dad hate her so much? I still don’t “get” the overall hatred for Cat. Maybe it’s just a little too simple an explanation for me and I was looking for something with a little more depth? Does he really just hate her because he doesn’t want to be a father? That makes no sense to me. But who am I to understand vampire politics. *shoulder shrugs*
As for the funnies this week, I LOVED Cat’s girl fight with Annette! There is no way around it – she’s a straight up biotch. Dropping hints about Bones’s past transgressions to Cat for shock value. Pure evil f*ckery. Underhanded as it was, I’m glad Cat put her in her place – with a knife in her chest. Oh and let’s back up a minute to talk about Cooper, Tate and Juan training with Belinda while on vampire blood. I thought the whole thing was filled with the funnies. I love those guys and heck – I have a MAJOR soft spot for Tate. I think he really, really, really loves Cat and will do anything to protect her and to make her proud. I love the fact that he doesn’t want to ever be a disappointment. I think this makes him a loyal and true friend. I’m kind of glad Cat doesn’t want him because this leaves him open for claiming! *swoon*
OMG and noooooooooooooooooooooooo did we really have to stop reading this week BEFORE the EPIC love scene! *Cries*
“Don’t try to get out of this. We’ll see if you love me when I pay you back.” “Even then I will love you,” Bones called out as I stomped away. “Even then.” – Bones
I’d address his way of trying to discourage Ian later. After all, he could have come up with something other than saying I was a whiny, smelly, trumpeting-snoring bad lay. – Cat
“That’s where you’re wrong again,” Bones stated. “You’ve seen her fight for years, so you’ve seen a Master Vampire in action. She just also has a heartbeat.” – Bones
- What’s your reaction to Don and Cat being related?
- What do you think about the reveal of who is after Cat?
- What do you think about Bone’s offer to Don to join Cat’s team and make vampires for Don?
- What do you think about Bones wanting to leave Ian and become his own Master?
- What are your thoughts on the vampire hierarchy?
- Do you think Cat will ever overcome her insecurities with Bones?
- What about Bones manwhoring, do you think more past flames will show up?
- What would you have done with Annette? And what was up with her reaction when Bones got closer?
- Finally NO evil mom this week! Was that great or what????
- Lastly, your favorite scenes, quotes or things we missed!?>
Remember you don’t have to answer all the questions. These are just some areas we found interesting while reading and thought they’d make a good point of reference if you aren’t sure what you’d like to discuss. #CatBonesRA
