Our Rambling Thoughts on Chapters 11 – 21:
This week as a special treat, we have a guest rambling from our very own AimeeKay!
OMG! I LOVE this series! So thank you to Diayll and Heather for letting me butt in and blabber about it!
So for chapters 11-21….OMG! I love the way Bones puts Cat’s mom in her place. She soooo needs a wakeup call. Between the way he winks at her at the wedding to the way he tells her off when she confronts him at Cat’s house! Go Bones! He doesn’t literally rip her head off, which he is VERY capable of doing, but verbally he doesn’t pull any punches.
So glad that Bones finally put his foot down with Cat and convinced her to try their relationship his way. He doesn’t force her, but he doesn’t back down with her either. I can’t wait to see where it goes!
I also really like the way that Frost handles the aging thing. I think eventually that Cat could be convinced that being a Vampire wouldn’t be the worst thing ever. Especially if it meant that she would be with Bones forever, but I can understand where she is with the idea of being changed. The whole extended life, as well as the fact that vamp blood makes it even longer really gives her more options. Not just one or the other.
I know this sounds silly but I love the way that Cat is always stealing the covers when she sleeps with Bones. I think it is sweet and shows more of the normal side to their relationship.
I love how Cat finally goes off on her team and calls them on their bigotry. Juan and Tate hit on her all the time, but are disgusted that she is with Bones because he’s a vamp. Such a double standard and she finally takes some pride in her heritage when she tells them it’s the same thing.
As for the attempted hit! I have soooo many ideas as to who hired the shooter….But when he said that the last email had said the hit had to be made right away? I can see Don keeping someone on call to kill Cat, just in case, but it still sounded like it was something that would have happened whether she turned on the team or not. So maybe it wasn’t Don or the government?
I have soooo many more questions now! What else can Bones do? Who else is out to get Cat? Is Cat ever going to run into Bones’s ex who he almost went all the way with?!?(I know that’s not as important as the rest, but I would like to see her reaction to the person just the same!)
Also every time “Stay” by Rihanna comes on I keep thinking of Cat and Bones. Don’t know why but the song just soooo reminds me of them! What do you guys think?

Can’t wait to read the next 10 chapters! Thanks again guys for letting me jump in on the conversation!
Well, well, well I was pleasantly surprised this week, and really enjoyed reading chapters 11- 20. We had a lot going on, but most of it I saw coming. What I really enjoyed though, was what transpired between Bones and Cat, but I’ll save that for last.
First, the Brans, the hybrid, and the blood drinking. I kind of figured Cat wouldn’t live a normal human life span. While anything is possible, it didn’t fit into the story for her to turn, and with knowing how long the series is, well, I put it together that either she wouldn’t age, or B there would be another loop hole.
What I didn’t expect is that consuming the blood of vampires would add years to a normal human life. Poor guys, but in reality, that stuff would be worth millions. Hello, Fountain of Youth! If I were Don, I’d sell some on the side to fund my projects. But I guess he’s a “good guy” and I’m a greedy human, ha!
I’ll also apologize now, and if you haven’t realized by now, I’m really bad with remembering names. I know last week that shined through, but without a reference (I was stranded while hubby fixed his truck with a close to dead cell battery), I tend to forget.
So TATE (yay I remembered it, but I forget the other one, is it Juan?), wow he really has the hots for Cat, more than Noah (who I still think is odd). But that scene in Don’s office where she came out with the claws, and laid into him. “You know the old saying. Once you go dead, no one’s better in bed.” I about died from laughter. I was proud of her, but I still feel bad for Tate. He needs to get laid (Like mother dearest.)
I had three favorite scenes this week. The first is where Bones tells Justina off, and believe me this was a long time a coming.
“Bones gave her a jaded look and then let it rip. “You know what your problem is, Justina? You’re in desperate need of a good shag.” I stopped and laughed for a few minutes as I pictured this hot, deadly vampire telling Cat’s mom, that she needs a good “Shag.” I also loved how he pointed out that mommy dearest blames Cat for her mistakes. Of course, one can only hope that Cat paid attention, because it’s true. She’s been trying her whole life to make it up to her mother, and you all know as I do that she’s done nothing freaking wrong!
Next scene … And the great Cat and Bones … (Ok I lied, multiples here)
When Bones and Cat kiss again. Darn, it was like magic, and the chemistry … sigh. Eww, but when he kissed that bridesmaid before, I was all like wth kill that hussy. But even more than the kiss, I enjoyed seeing the two of them in action at the club. They make a better team than she does with her actual team, and together I swear they’d be unstoppable. The sexy dance floor was just a bonus, of course.
Finally, and I already touched on it above, was the show down.
Cat laid it out flat, and didn’t let Don, Tate, or Juan (please someone tell me that’s his name) push her around when it came to Bones. I really loved how she threw herself out there when they called her a Necro. Because she’s right, she’s half vampire even if they only choose to see the human half. I’m very proud of her this week.
- Do you think Bones and Tate (let’s say he’s hopped up on vamp juice) will have a showdown? Who would win?
- What was your reaction to Bones knocking Justina off her high horse?
- Who do you think put the bounty on Cat’s head?
- Predictions, Cat and Bones, Don, Bones vs Tate, Bones vs Justina, Tate vs Cat … anything big you think might happen next week?
- Do you think Cat should have stood up for herself more with her mother?
- How did you like the building tension between Cat and Bones?
- What about the kiss and do you think Bones has remained celibate?
- Who do you think shot at Cat in the restaurant?
- What’s your opinion on how Bones handles Cat’s mom?
- What is up with Randy??? Why is he immune to Bones and does anyone else know?
- The whole club scene! (I love the way she gets into the club) But how is that poor girl gonna explain coming to in a bridesmaid dress covered in blood?
- Who do you think hired the newest hit man? Why?
- What do you think about Bones’s flying ability? I mean doesn’t he almost come across as being indestructible anyway? (And he still has more tricks that Cat doesn’t know about.)
- Also what’s your thoughts on Cat’s anti-aging ability and the fact that vamp blood adds years to human life without changing them?
Remember you don’t have to answer all the questions. These are just some areas we found interesting while reading and thought they’d make a good point of reference if you aren’t sure what you’d like to discuss. #CatBonesRA
